Barefoot Kuata #Day15

Todays the day we dive with sharks. I had a bit of a restless sleep last night as I'm quite nervous but I know it's going to he incredible!

We went for a little hike to a viewpoint before our 11am dive.

We got briefed about how the boats get anchored and then we enter the water and go down behind a rock wall. Our dive instructor Jimmy got us all geared up and then we went in the water. We descended and before we knew it we were kneeling behind the wall with bull sharks right in front of us!
2 mean were our in front of us behind a metal barrier, 1 was feeding the sharks fish heads while the other had a metal pole to deter any sharks that came too close. Other instructors were positioned in between us with metal poles with a loop on the end to put up just incase the sharks came to close. The position we were in was so incredible to watch them feeling and they swam straight in front of our faces.
It was such an incredible once in a life time experience that I will never forget.
If someone had told me I would be diving with sharks and not in cage, I wouldn't have believed them! But after being educated on how misunderstood creatures they are and our fear of them is because we have been brainwashed by the media.
I'm so grateful that we got to see this magnificent, graceful, peaceful creatures up close.

We spent the rest of the afternoon snorkeling on the beautiful reef soaking everything in for the last time.

We were so sad to leave! The ferry arrived at 4 and we arrived back to Port, the mainland at 6. We grabbed a quick snack at the bakery before catching our bus transfer to the hotel, Smugglers Cove. We grabbed dinner at the resturant and heading to bed. Our last night here in Fiji!
