Similan Islands #Day6

Today was our day trip to Similan Islands!
Here is the itinerary:

This morning we woke up at 5:45 ready for our transport to the pier from 6 onwards.
The taxi picked us up at 6:30am and we made the 2 hour journey.
We arrived and was marked off and given a number to collect our snorkel and mask, flippers, towel and put it all in a nifty bag:

There was a very basic breakfast supplied, some toast and biscuits. We made sure to have some ginger tablets!

Everyone got given a coloured wrist band to be split into groups. We were red group!
Unfortunately our group was the last to leave so we didn’t set off until after 10am.

We set off on the speed boat for the 1 hour and 20 minutes ride to our first stop.
Our guides name is Emmy and she was so sweet!
When we arrived we set anchor and jumped in the water for the first time.
The water was dark blue and quite deep but straight away I saw my first sea turtle! Yipee! We saw schools of fish and I saw a tiny shark.
There were tinyyy jelly fish on the surface of the water and I could feel them stinging me. Luckily when I got out I didn’t have any red marks or anything.

*(All my photos are on the GoPro which I’ll have to upload later!)

After 40 minutes we headed to a beach for lunch.
The beach was absolutely packed. Lunch was lots of rice and chicken. We walked 10 minutes across to the other side of the island for a swim before the boat met and picked us up again.

We went to Christmas point. The water here was an amazing light blue and this spot was full of coral and not as deep so we could see sooo many fish nice and close up. It was absolutely spectacular. We duck dived and swam right up to the fish, every colour of the rainbow.
I did not want to leave after only 40 minutes!
We jumped on the front of the boat which was super bumpy but so fun!

Our last stop was at Sailing Rock.
We climbed up the crowded path. Laura came here just 2 years ago and said there were barely any people so it has become a lot more popular only recently.

The views at the top were stunning!

Our guide Emmy, started taking photos for us which turned into a full blown photo shoot haha she got us posing and getting all the different angles, it was so funny.

Walking back down:

We headed the 1:20 minutes journey back arrived at 5:30pm. We returned all our gear and had a small bite to eat. Our taxi picked us up at 6:30 and we arrived home tired but more than eager for another trip soon!
