New York #Day38

Today we went to the 9/11 memorial site and National September 11 Memorial Musuem at the world trade centre.

These 2 pools mark where the towers stood.

The Memorial Museum was very emotional but incredible to see. It had ruins of the towers and was full of information about the tragic day.

It was so fascinating we spent over 2 hours in there.

After we headed to see the Charging Bull of Wall Street!

Then we went to Grand Central Central Terminal which was huge

We headed back to Times Square and then back to our hotel for an early night as we are going to Soho for breaky tomorrow

New York #Day37

Another amazing day today!

We mastered the Metro this morning. Just a 3 minute walk from our Hotel and a really easy system all the way downtown to SouthFerry to meet up with Alysha and Georgia for their last day in NY.

It was a stunning clear 30 degrees today, so we made the most of the clear skies by catchinh the free Staten Island ferry that took us across to the island to get a view of the Statue of Liberty!

You get off at the other end and then we waited half an hour to get back on the ferry to return to Manhattan.

Not being tourist at all....

On the return we had the most incredible view of the skyline! Not bad for a free ride.

Once back we walked up to Brooklyn Bridge.

NY City Hall:

Brooklyn Bridge:

We headed back on the Metro about a 30 minute ride Uptown to our hotel to get changed before meeting a large group of our Contiki friends for dinner at Applebee's.

After dinner half of us went to the Empire State Building to see the city sparkling at night.

It was about an hours wait in queues, even at 11pm but was completely worth it for the view!
We didn't go all the way to the top (102 floors) but still got an incredible viewpoint from 86 floors.
