Cork, Ireland #Day9

In Wexford we started our day by picking up our next hire car and buying a sat nav to get us round!
We finally left our comfortable hotel and started driving towards Cork and then I realised that the sat nav only has maps for Ireland and the UK so we had to drive all the way back to return it, to get a European one! No fun

Trying to find our way~
Castle ruin~
We stopped at a place called Waterford on our way to Cork. Waterford is famous for making crystal glass~
Snazzy table arrangement~
Looking goood~
An Irish Church~
Here a bought a cute little 3 leaf clover from the gift shop~
Crossing a large toll bridge~
Views along the way~
Then we finally arrived in Cork~
To be honest Cork isn't the nicest place, let's just say we wanted to get back to the hostel before dark! The nicest spot was the university just across the road~

Best part of the day?
Seeing the glass crystals

What I have learned?
Waterford is the oldest city in Ireland!

Tomorrow we are off to…
Tralee, Ireland!

Fishguard, Wales #Day8

We left this morning after filling up on a yummy breaky made for us by the friendly house keeper!
We then headed to Fishguard to return our hire car and catch the ferry over to Rosslare, Ireland.

Fishguard~
We boarded the ferry at 2pm, and left at 2:30pm, arriving in Ireland at 7pm!
We spent the first half of the journey on the top deck and the remaining time in this cinema type lounge~
From Rosslare we made our way to Wexford on a bus to our accomodation for the night. It's right next to a pub so we had to check in at the bar. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by 2 friendly locals! It's true what they say, the Irish are extremely friendly
Was a perfect welcome

Best part of the day?
Seeing Fishguard foreshore

What I have learned?
Fishguard was invaded by the French in the 1700's!

Tomorrow we are off to…
Cork, Ireland!

Wales #Day7

This morning we drove straight to Tenby. Turned out to be the best decision! Tenby is such a cute coastal town full of pastel coloured buildings, so stunning~
Centre~
Lunch~
Gardens at the top of the hill~
Beach caves~
From here we drove to our hotel which was in a tiny village called Spittal. We dropped our bags and made our way to a place called St David's!

On the way we pulled over to have a quick look at this gorgeous sea side town where later on we stopped on the drive home for some dinner~
St David's~
We finished off our day with this fantastic view of the sunset~

Best part of the day?
Catching the sunset from an amazing view point

What I have learned?
Wales is stunning. Every town is amazing! The locals can't understand us with our accents so we put on a slight English accent and then they understand what we are saying haha

Tomorrow we are off to…
Fishguard, we were catch a ferry over to Ireland!!

Wales #Day6

This morning we had one last quick look at Bath and decided we couldn't leave without seeing the famous Ancient Roman Baths. They were so fascinating, I'm so glad we decided to go in. We received a little audio guide which was full of information and history.
A lady dressed up in roman clothing, crafting jewellery~
Mum~
Then we went into the central cathedral and listened to a choir sing~
Wondering around~
We got into the car and drove across to Wales.
Our cute little car~
Going over the bridge~
Tonight we are staying in this beautiful hotel (very posh!) haha I love it
We are currently sitting outside soaking up the sunshine on the terrace

Best part of the day?
Seeing the Roman Baths

What I have learned?
The water that comes up from underground into the baths is rain that would have fallen 10 thousand years ago!
It wasn't just a place of retreat and relaxation but also a place of worship and sacrifice to the Gods.

Tomorrow we are off to…
Some place called Spittal!
