Pompeii, Italy #Day81

A day in Pompeii!!

Pompeii, along with many villages in the surrounding area, was mostly destroyed and buried under 4 to 6 m of ash in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD! 

This place was absolutely amazing to see and so much larger then I was expecting! You could spend hours trying to see it all~ 

Afterwards we went to Sorrento~

All the Christmas decorations were up! 

We met up with our Canadian friend who we met in Germany which was really nice!~

Today we left Rome and travelled to Napels by train. From Naples we caught a train towards Sorrento where we got off just before in a town close by called~Piano! 

I am in love with our hotel! 

It's called 'The Secret Garden'~ this is what you see when you walk in~

Just a couple of minutes walk down the road and we are by the sea~ 

It's a quite little town~

so nice to be away from the crazy crowds in Florence and Rome! 

Tomorrow we are heading to Pompeii :)

It is exactly 1 week untill we fly home!

A day in the Vatican City~ 

We had an audience with the Pope! (Basically sitting with around 10 thousand people listening to the Pope talk in Italian) it was an amazing experience though! We sat there for 4 hours

Tomorrow we head further down south, past Naples to Sorrento :)
