Annecey, France #Day17

We had a late start today as the weather was pretty shocking! It bucketed down rain all morning and then finally at around 2pm it cleared up so we jumped out of the car to have a little walk along the lake. Holy moly. I have no words.
This place is amazing!!! So beautiful!

I'll let the photos do the talking~

Driving around the outside of the lake~
All going well and then...we got a flat tire...yay.
At least we had a nice view while waiting for the road side assistance! But it unfortunately put us out for the rest of the day
Heading back to the hotel~

Best part of the day?
The 30 minutes of no rain where we found that stunning pier. Tthere was no one else in sight. It was magical

What I have learned?
Lake Annecey is the 2nd largest lake in France

Tomorrow we are off to…
See the old town in Annecey before we head towards Provence!

Lyon, France #Day16

We set off for the city catching a train and tram from Bron to the centre of Lyon. Everything is so different here and it's so hard when you don't know any French! But we got there eventually hah
As soon as we walked out of the train station we were in the square~
We were blown away~Lyon is beautiful!
Lyon Cathedral~
We hiked up the top of the hill to see the Basillicia, which you can see at the top of this photo~
A picture taken at midday when it was much sunnier!
Strolling the streets of the old town~
My first French pastrie! Mm so yummy! Unlike anything I've had before!
Basilica~
Amazing view~
Mini Eiffle tower~
Inside of the Basilica~
Incredible!
Old Amphitheatre~

After only a short few hours in Lyon we had to move on to make it to Annecey where we are staying for the night.

Driving to Annecey~ just a casual rest stop along the highway ;)

Best part of the day?
The breath taking views of Lyon

What I have learned?
Lyon has secret passages all around the old quarters, called Traboules! The door ways with specific numbers on them (which we had a list of) alows you to walk through the passages, cutting across to other streets as short cuts! Very sneaky!
We went through one which was dark and spookie but still very cool

Tomorrow we are off to…
Lake Annecey
